On 24 September 2026, Mr. Felix Choi (Honorary President of HKMDC), Chairman of the Federation of Asian Die & Mould Associations (FADMA), led a core delegation including Mr. Patrick Ho, Chairman of the Hong Kong Mould&Die Council (HKMDC), and members of the HKMDC Executive Committee on a working visit to the China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMIA) in Beijing. The meeting was attended by Mr.JiangChao, President of CDMIA, Mr.LiuXiaohu, Party Branch Secretary and Executive Vice President of CDMIA, and Ms.ZhangShujie, Secretary-General of CDMIA.
First Round of Working Talks at CAM Group
The first round of formal working talks was hosted in the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group (CAM). Prior to the meeting, Mr.JiangChao invited Mr. Felix Choi and the HKMDC delegation to tour the CAM Group Exhibition Hall, where they gained an in-depth understanding of the evolution and innovation achievements of China’s machinery industry and a deeper appreciation for the deep-rooted foundations of China’s manufacturing sector.

24 September 2026, Beijing: meetings with CDMIA and a tour of the CAM Group Exhibition Hall.
Opening the session, Mr.JiangChao delivered a welcome address. He noted that moulds play a pivotal role in the intelligent and green transformation of the manufacturing industry. CDMIA stands ready to strengthen standards alignment, technical exchanges and exhibition cooperation with FADMA and all its member associations, to jointly lift the overall competitiveness of Asia’s die-and-mould industry.
Mr.Felix Choi then delivered his first address to CDMIA since taking office as FADMA Chairman. He opened by thanking CDMIA – a founding member of FADMA – for its long-standing, strong support for the Federation’s development. Mr. Choi briefly reviewed FADMA’s development trajectory, the outcomes of the 2026 FADMA Office Bearer Meeting (OBM) hosted by HKMDC in Zhongshan in June, and outlined FADMA’s three-year work plan for the 2026-2029 term:
(1) Consolidate the foundation: Marking FADMA’s 35th anniversary to refresh the Federation’s brand identity, advance joint industry standards and talent development, and explore a membership expansion and tiered‑membership mechanism.
(2) Expand industry influence: Boosting industry visibility through touring exhibitions, cultural-creative projects, technical forums and industry awards.
(3) Entrench achievements: Driving the implementation of Asian mould standards, expanding hands-on online and offline training, hosting a dedicated industry summit, and strengthening the collective international voice of Asia’s die-and-mould sector.
Mr. Patrick Ho, Chairman of HKMDC, and Mr. Patrick To, Vice-Chairman of HKMDC, respectively introduced the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and HKMDC, covering their core mandates and key work priorities. Accompanying Executive Committee members Mr. Gordon Hong and Mr. Eddie Wong then presented HKMDC’s work on domestic affairs and international exchanges respectively.
Mr.LiuXiaohu, Executive Vice President of CDMIA, stated that Asia’s die-and-mould industry holds a pivotal position in the global mould sector, and FADMA serves as a key platform for regional industrial exchange and cooperation. CDMIA will, as always, actively support and participate in all events hosted by FADMA with a pragmatic and open attitude, proactively fulfil its duties as a member committee, and fully support FADMA’s touring exhibition proposal.
Second In-Depth Discussion Reaches Multiple Consensuses
Later the same day, both sides moved to CDMIA’s offices for a second working meeting to hold further consultations on concrete implementation matters. Discussions focused thoroughly on key topics including FADMA corporate membership development, Asian mould standardization advancement, and mutual visit mechanisms between member-economy associations, with full exchange of views from both sides. CDMIA expressed its readiness to host the 2027 FADMA OBM Meeting, as well as the 2030 FADMA AGM and the Asian Mould Industry Development Forum. CDMIA also intends to organize a delegation to attend the AGM 2027 in Tokyo (14-16 April 2027, held alongside Intermold Japan) and extended an invitation to FADMA to form a delegation to take part in Die & Mould China (DMC) 2027, to be held in Shanghai from 28 June to 1 July 2027.
Both sides unanimously agreed to further establish a regular, normalized exchange mechanism going forward. By delivering project outcomes through FADMA’s three dedicated committees – Standardization, Promotion and Training – they will build closer working collaboration and jointly advance the steady progress of all FADMA undertakings.

Significance of the Visit
This marks the first official visit by Mr.Felix Choi to CDMIA since assuming the FADMA chairmanship. Through on-site visits and two rounds of in-depth talks, both sides have consolidated their cooperative foundation and clarified priorities and directions for future collaboration. The outcomes have laid solid groundwork for the new FADMA Management Committee to launch its work smoothly and will inject sustained momentum into the high-quality, collaborative development of Asia’s die-and-mould industry.
